This thesis deals with competition effect on sprouts growth of sessile oak (Quercus petraea agg.). It analyze dimensions and growth of sprouts in 5 growing seasons. It investigates competition effect to height increment and diameter increment of sprouts on areas in corversion to coppice and coppice with standarts. Measurement was realized in the area of ŠLP Křtiny, specifically on research area Hády. It was found, that with increasing age decrease the number of sprouts gradually. It was demonstrated, that sprouts are growing better, and achieves a higher dimensions in area without standarts. Competition effect was certified to height increment and diameter increment at the entire growth period.
Differences in photosynthesis and plant water status between coppice and high forest
Matoušková, Marie
This diploma thesis focuses on comparison of photosynthesis and tree water status between high forest and coppice of Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl. Four different types of management were investigated during vegetation season 2016: high forest, coppice on clear-felled site, coppice with standards and seedlings. Methods of leaf gas exchange and water potential measurements allowed to study transpiration, photosynthesis and its response to light and CO2 concentration and leaf water potential. All these physiological parameters were studied as linked to weather conditions and various levels of drought stress. When the soil water was not limiting factor trees in all variants of experiment behaved similarly. However, during mild to severe drought stress the coppice was superior to seedlings and to high forest. It showed higher photosynthesis rate (2.49 umol m-2 s-1) than seedlings (0.86 umol m-2 s-1), both under moderate water stress. Coppice also had higher stomatal conductance and quantum yield of fluorescence than high forest which allowed to higher photosynthetic rates. The lowest value of predawn water potential was in high forest (-3.27 MPa) whereas highest in coppice (-2.01 MPa) which indicated better water availability and lower evapotranspiration demands imposed on coppice sprouts due to their lower height and therefore lower overall aerodynamic conductance. Response of net photosynthesis to CO2 concentration revealed higher carboxylation rates in high forest than in coppice but low stomatal conductance was a reason for overall lower photosynthetic rates in high forest than in coppice. Due to its superiority under water stress coppice forest may be a viable option for forest management on dry sites during the climate change.

Aim of this bachelor thesis is evaulation of the recrenational and health-hygiene functions in coppice forest. The evaulation of each functions was used method of Vyskot et al. (2003). The other aim of this thesis is evaulate the opinion of non-forestry community about the coppice forest. This thesis consists of free basic parts. Theoretical part focused on definicion of coppice forest with a descriptions of main characters and differences between coppice and high forest. This part is focuse also on differences between coppice forest and high forest in forestry management. Second part is metodology, where is the description of evaulation and connetions of data and also process in evaluating the real potential of the forest. The practical part focuses on the evaluation of research obtained in the terrain and to assess the real potential of recreational function and health-hygiene function.
Hodnocení pařezové výmladnosti v městských lesích Moravský Krumlov
Kuličková, Barbora
This thesis deals with the rating of sprouting capacity on the research areas specified for the transformation to middle forest in the urban forest Moravský Krumlov. The areas were founded in 2008. It is mostly a description of layer development of coppice forest during several years of measurements and a comparison related to age, set of forest types and intervention intensity. An important attribute is a sprouts growth especially during a few years of measurement. The extensive damages were caused by relatively high pressure of the game. It has been found out the sprouts growth of oak /Quercus petraea/ has hundred per cent success of sprouting capacity on the set of forest types 2S /fresh beech forest/. However, the sprouts have vegetated also on other stands / the set of forest types/ , but due to the co- influence above mentioned factors the success was lower. Futhermore, the sprouts growth according to various variants /fenced, development phase, age, set of forest types, intervention intensity and number of seedlings per hectare/ was rated. In the first part, it was being found out if statistically significant differences existed among the individual levels /by sprouts growth, height icrement of sprouts/. In the other part, the levels of variants that led to the higher sprouts growth, were searching. And the result has been reached none of elected levels led to the making of maximum sprouts growth. However, the stated results can serve as a source for growing and forest regeneration of lower coppice storeys in process of stand conversion to coppice-with standards.
Hodnocení pařezové výmladnosti dubu zimního na ŠLP ML Křtiny
Kulhánek, Martin
The aim of the thesis was to characterize the state of the coppice on research plots Usakov and Hradisko. Describe resprouting of Sessile oak (Quercus petraea) and European hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) in partial areas that were previously cutted down. Find out whether it would be theoretically possible under the conditions of the Czech Republic to manage the oak and hornbeam coppice using the selection system. Conducted to evaluate impact of executed felling on radial increment and high increment and establish basic principles of coppice tending. Within the thesis was characterized present state in both research plots. It revealed a high probability of resprouting and expressed its dependence on type of felling and polycormon parameters. The results shows that in Czech Republic is use of selection system in Sessile oak and European hornbeam coppice possible. Fellings carried out on research plots had a statistically significant effect on the radial increases of Sessile oak and European hornbeam. From the detected biomass increses was developed a model, that is possible to use when proceeding with selection system in coppice (determination of returnable time).
Formy a možnosti rekreačního využití příměstských lesů
Ježková, Petra
This work summarises the issues of suburban forests, recreation, sustainable development and economic shape of forest through literature review. The model area is described in terms of natural, cultural and landscape characteristics of the countryside. The work introduces the main problems connected with the use of the suburban forest in the model area, as well as the case between vacationers and the forest owner concerning the conversion of the forest into a low one. Based on the description of the problems a recommendation has been made on how to improve the present state and the care of the area and also a suggestion of how to use the suburban forest for recreation in a better way.

Produkce pravé a nepravé kmenoviny
Paško, Martin
Thesis seeks to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference in the volume production of regular and irregular stemwood depending on age and stand. With growth and incremental function to determine peak volume increment depending on age levels and diameter classes. The thesis was carried out in the field Hady (forest district Bílovice nad Svitavou). The stand groups were measured representatively selected trees, which have been determined thickness and height. Then were detected statistically significant differences and prepare the growth and increment functions. With these results a method of forest regeneration of these forest stands was determined. It was found that with few exceptions was no significant difference in volume production between regular and irregular stemwood. With acquired culmination incremental function was designed way to forest regeneration, to transfer to coppice with standards forest.
Výmladnost a produkce biomasy dubu zimního (Quercus petraea agg.) na výzkumné ploše Soběšice
Wolf, Patrik
This thesis deals with study of the sprouting of sessile oak in the experimental area Soběšice. This area was established within the frame of project TARMAG. The Sprouting was monitored in two years -- 2011 and 2012, so directly after the first vegetation period after timber harvesting in the area. Data found by measuring height and thickness of sprouts and also by diameter of stump and number of sprouts (for each stump) was used for rating of sprouting ability. For statistical data evolution was used program Microsoft Office Excel. In the context of this thesis to determined biomass production (dry weight of organic wood matter) were also removed all the sprouts of the selected tree stumps of the research areas. It was found, that in the first years of oak growth hasn't got substantial impact on the oak sprouting the diameter of stump or intensity of timber harvesting. Furthermore, it was found that the total biomass of tree stump could be with some accuracy to determine the characteristics of a selected number of sprouts.
Vliv struktury temperátního lesa na jeho dynamiku
Mucha, Martin
Martin Mucha: Effect of the temperate forest structure on forest dynamics. A main goal of the study was examination of the effect of the two temperate coppice forest structures, micro-relief and nutrient content of soil on coppice dynamics. Rich literature on coppice forests was studied before a literature list has been compiled. In practical part of the study, increment cores and soil samples were taken from oak and hornbeam trees on 46 experimental forest plots owned by Istanbul University. Based on radial increments measured, statistically significant effect of management-based structure, mic-rorelief and soil nutrient content in a soil was examined. The main increment of trees growing on top plateau was significantly higher than increment of trees growing on south and north-facing slopes. The main increment of coppice with uneven structure (abandoned coppice) was significantly different from actively managed coppice oak stands. In addition, effect of different soil nutrient content was not significant.
